The Medical Surveillance Program is a complex and unique program, providing occupational health services to 36 state and government contracts, each ranging from $30,000 to $5.5 million. The core activities of the Medical Surveillance Program is to provide occupational health services in a mobile medical unit that travels to various work sites throughout California to bring resources to State and Government agencies, and private companies, affected by health hazards in their workplace. This is a 100% career position. The incumbent provides medical support as a Lead Medical Assistant and performs specialized testing and/or identifiable front and back-office duties requiring special training, skill level and responsibility as determined per operational need. The incumbent is supervised by a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) when working in the mobile medical unit. The incumbent works under the direction of a program manager for administrative purposes, including customer service, professional behavior & development, assignment & scheduling of work, and performance of job functions not requiring supervision by an LIP. Apply By Date: June 10, 2024 Minimum Qualifications Must have Certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant training program. Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification or UC Davis Health CPR. To administer injections, must have written evidence of validation for training and competency in medication administration by injection and skin testing. Must pass UCDH Pharmacology verification exams if needed in job. Valid State of California Driverxe2x80x99s License. Valid NIOSH Spirometry Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Valid CAOHC Certificate or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Valid RV Driving Training Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Must be willing to travel throughout California, Monday xe2x80x93 Friday, with overnight stays, up to 3 work weeks per month. Must be able to successfully complete training to drive a medical mobile unit (RV) to worksite locations throughout California. Must be able to successfully complete NIOSH Certification Course. Must be able to successfully complete CAOHC Certification course. Preferred Qualifications State of CA Phlebotomy Certification. 5 years of Medical Assistant experience. Work week is Monday xe2x80x93 Friday with working hours of 8am xe2x80x93 5pm, with frequent overtime. Travel up to 3 work weeks per month. Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
