*** Please DO NOT APPLY if you do not possess a National or Virginia EMT certification*** This position is advertised as a 24-hour shift, working two (2) shifts weekly on a rotating schedule, with the opportunity for overtime if desired. Other EMT / AEMT positions with a different rotating schedule may start at a higher yearly rate. Please inquire during the interview process. Responsibilities Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, providing care and transportation to patients in need. Assess patients’ conditions and determine the appropriate course of action Administer necessary medical treatments and interventions. Monitor patient vital signs and ensure hemodynamic stability during transport Communicate with facility staff to provide accurate patient information. Document all medical procedures, assessments, and treatments accurately and thoroughly. Required Skills Strong anatomy knowledge to understand the human body and its systems. Drive and ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situation. Proficient in assessing vital signs and recognizing abnormalities. Skilled in patient assessment techniques to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move patients safely. Excellent patient care skills, including compassion, empathy, and effective communication. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to understand and use it effectively. Familiarity with state and agency protocols and procedures for efficient patient transfer Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
