I am currently hiring multiple Certified Medical Assistants in the Bergen and Hudson County area. In this role, you will assist patients and their families in all aspects of their clinical interaction within the pediatric setting. The CMA is an integral part of the Patient Care Team and ensures that all patients have optimal health outcomes.Main responsibilities include: manual blood pressure assessments, fingerstick testing, height and weight measurements for infants/toddlers/children.Qualifications:Pediatrics experience preferredStrong patient de-escalation experienceReliable transportation to get in the office on time and consistentlyCertified and have documentation through National Accredited program, state or schoolLocations:Hoboken Teaneck Park Ridge Oakland Closter Hours: Mon-Fri 8a-530p, one day a week 11-830, and one weekend per month 8a-4p. Overview:Greet patient and family cordially at every visit, using cultural sensitivity and customer service skills. Obtain chief complaint, history of present illness, social history, family history, query patient on current medications and allergies, perform and record vital signs and others. Enter all documentation in the electronic medical record system, verifying accuracy and reviewing answers at subsequent visits.Follow current HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and CLIA guidelines for lab protocolsCommunicate with the physician if there is any acute issue that needs immediate attention.Inform physician when patient is ready for examination. Perform required lab work and immunization administration as ordered by the physician.Ensure that the patient understands physician’s instructions and remind patient if there is a follow-up appointment required.Follow standing orders on all patients who have a chronic issue and verify medications, allergies and medical histories.Record all results of lab tests in the electronic medical record, timestamping results with nameArrange for pick-up of lab specimens that require an outside laboratory to complete and close the lab for the evening when working the later shifts.Maintain cleanliness of exam room before the day starts and in between patientsAssist with completion of forms, noting completion of form in electronic medical record.Check supplies in all exam rooms on a daily basis, inform Nurse Manager when inventory of a particular supply is running low.
