HIRING TRAVELLING PHLEBOTOMIST/MEDICAL ASSISTANT A company providing laboratory services to the healthcare industry is currently hiring experienced Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to work in the Greater Portland area with the following qualifications: 1. Possess at least one year of recent blood-drawing experience in a lab or hospital setting, doing at least 50-60 draws per day. 2. Must have excellent people skills and excellent customer service. 3. A reliable car with valid insurance is also necessary to fulfill this job. 4. Must have a phlebotomy or MA certification, successfully drawn geriatric patients and good with hard sticks. Must be responsible to handle multiple patient appointments and has the ability to communicate status of work assignments. 5. Must adhere to healthcare industry code of grooming and dress code, reports on time to work and follow company guidelines. 6. Candidates should be available early morning until noon, and some afternoon, Monday through Friday. 7. We are also considering on-call travelling phlebotomists only in the morning. Responsibilities include: 1. Collect specimens and label them accurately, and on time . 2. Collect specimens according to established procedures. 3. Greet patients respectfully and treat them in a courteous manner. 4. Keeps work area neat and clean. Dispose of biohazard into proper containers. 5. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; on call to transition to regular. 6. Must have excellent phlebotomy skills. Multiple pokes not allowed. 7. Communicate appropriately with clients, patients and co-workers; especially status updates. 8. Willing to train new graduates of medical assisting and phlebotomy.
