Medical Assistant We are looking for a hardworking and energetic person to join our well established pain management practice. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for all aspects of an office day for the practice. Specific duties include the following: Maintain the office schedule, providing necessary information to patients and physicians Schedule the patients for upcoming office visits accordingly Have all essential items needed by the doctor ready at the beginning of the day Collect co-pays Receive and screen calls relating to problems that may arise due to date changes and any reasons for cancellation and effectively communicate these problems to the relevant staff Escalate non-routine issues to appropriate staff or physician Perform other duties as assigned by staff management or physicians REQUIREMENTS Strong organization skills High degree of accuracy for detail Ability to multi task and work independently Professional, friendly and pleasant personality Have at least 12 months experience in Medical Assisting Excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of insurance pre-authorization activities Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel and Word) Any of the following experiences or skills are a plus: Previous experience with Orthopedic and/or Pain Management practices BENEFITS Medical and Dental benefits Paid time off for holidays and vacation Supportive staff and management to help you do the best job possible Come join a respected medical practice with a reputation for treating their employees well.
