Greater Houston Kidney Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant who will primarily be responsible for travel clinics in the Webster/Clear Lake, Pasadena, and Texas City area. The MA will work within a team to provide excellent care to our patients. GHKS offers a full benefit package including 401k, medical, dental, vision, life, as well as short- and long-term disability. We also provide mileage reimbursement. An ideal candidate has great customer service, teamwork, and multi-tasking skills. We prefer Registered/Certified Medical Assistant and Spanish fluency, but neither is required. An MA with at least 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in a doctor’s office and a current CPR certificate will be competitive for this position. Our home office is at 1050 Gemini St in Clear Lake. Below is a summary of what you would be doing with us at GHKS: While working in the travel clinics, the Medical Assistant greets patients, schedules appointments, maintains records and accounts, and provides information, services and assistance. While preparing for clinics, the Medical Assistant confirms appointments, checks that lab/exam results are ready, completes insurance authorizations, and updates the provider on chart and patient statuses. The Medical Assistant has direct responsibility to ensure that all care performed and tasks delegated are provided in accordance with this clinic’s policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
