About us Internal Medicine West is an independent, physician owned practice that is a subsidiary of Pioneer Physicians Network based in Fairlawn, OH. Internal Medicine West is looking for a compassionate Medical Assistant with a positive attitude to deliver optimal patient care for our office in the Fairlawn area. The ideal candidate will be able to perform phone triage. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to providing quality care. Previous EMR experience is preferred. We do require that our Medical Assistants are certified within six months of hire. Responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Maintain patient confidentiality. Answer multiple incoming patient phone lines. Triage incoming phone call appropriately. This includes scheduling patient appointments, creating telephone encounters and providing requested information. Maintain appropriate scheduling processes and policies. Offer support to the check-in and check-out receptionists. Demonstrate the ability to work as a team member. Maintain the work area in a neat and organized manner. Report urgent issues, patient emergencies to the office manager or physician(s) as appropriate in a timely manner. Initiate problem-solving when needed to ensure patient, physician and staff satisfaction. Learn the responsibilities of the other positions in the business office. Attend required meetings. Perform other related work as requested.
