Description: PACE Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Location: Lexington, KY Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm As a BCN Bluegrass PACE Care team member, you will be a part of a program providing all-inclusive healthcare that keeps Kentuckians aged 55+, who may otherwise need nursing home care, living safely at home. About the role: This position is responsible to provide direct care to PACE participants in the PACE Center including care coordination with the Interdisciplinary Team, direct patient care responsibilities to include immunizations, phlebotomy, vital sign monitoring, and other clinical duties within the scope of the individualxe2x80x99s clinical certification as assigned. May also assist in managing calls/messages, and potentially travel with a participant to a medical visit outside the PACE Center. Assists PACE Center RNs, LPNs, Therapists, Providers, and other clinicians when needed. Responsible for a variety of clerical and support duties including typing correspondence and documents, special projects, faxing, errands outside organizational office and other clerical support as required. Requirements: GED or High School Diploma; One-year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CMA) or registered Medical Assistant Program (RMA) and completion of a clinical externship. Medical Assistant Certification. Minimum of one year experience in caring for the frail and elderly, preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Food handling permit required, to be completed upon hire. Assists with preparation of foods and beverages. Prepares all food items according to planned menus; using planned recipes. Does not vary from the recipes provided. Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision. Demonstrates the ability to work well with health care professionals and an interdisciplinary team. Ability to read and interpret documents, policies and procedures, procedural manuals, and operating instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Professional oral and written communication skills with ability to speak effectively and interact with staff and community. Ability to interpret and apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Knowledgeable of and proficient in a variety of computer programs including word processing and spreadsheets, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Ability to operate various office equipment including computers, copiers, and facsimile machines. Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order. Team members will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
