A well-established, prominent midsized busy Nephrology Practice located in Fort Worth. Our practice has multiple outpatient locations and provides inpatient services in most of the hospitals and LTAC’s in our service area. We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing practice at our Vascular Access Center. Qualified candidates are enthusiastic, fast-learning, reliable, self-motivated and well-spoken individuals. Primary duties: – Prepare the operating room for procedures. Make the bed, prepare biohazard bins, and turn the room. – Set up operating table, clean and drape procedure site using sterile technique. – Dispose of sharps and biohazard waste using osha guidelines – Assist in transferring patient to post op area if necessary – Spot clean all equipments, floor and walls as per OSHA guidelines – Assist front desk in answering phones, preparing charts, scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance referrals – Assist in permacath removals and cleaning patient areas. – Assist nurse with dressing post op patient and discharge. – Ensure all supplies are stocked – Operate C arm A successful applicant will also be able to: -accurately take blood pressure manually -refill prescriptions -perform injections -chart in an EHR – Restock procedure kits and sheets. – Remove biohazard bins and any full sharps containers – Empty linen hampers. – Double check Procedure logs are accurate, including the referring physician and dialysis center. -speak spanish Driving to satellite clinic locations is required on a regular basis, there is mileage reimbursement Reliable transportation and a driver’s license are required.
