Job Summary ABI Technician The ABI Technician performing ABI (Ankle Branchial Indexing) testing, MA, will work under the direction of the Marketing Team to perform testing at multiple off-site locations and can be required to complete the role of intake coordinator when requested to work on-site. 1. Will be responsible for maintaining a clean driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple off-site physician offices and locations to perform testing. 2. The Marketing Team will provide the next day’s schedule before the closing of business each day. 3. Responsible for contacting off-site locations to confirm the next day’s schedule. 4. Ensure all ABI (Ankle Branchial Indexing) equipment is charged, accounted for, and in working condition before scheduled to begin at the off-site location. 5. Obtain and register all patient demographic information before or during scheduled arrival time (BIOMEDIX, ATHENA…) 6. Confirm all provided demographic and insurance information with the patient to ensure it is correct before registering in the EMR Athena system. 7. Obtain a signed consent and ensure the screening questionnaire is completed. 8. Responsible for scanning and attaching all demographic information, consent, and questionnaires into EMR Athena and inputting all appropriate information on the ABI (Ankle Branchial Indexing) website before testing submission. 9. Responsible for uploading all finalized ABI (Ankle Branchial Indexing) testing results into EMR Athena within 24-48 hours and delivering them to the off-site location by email, fax, or hand delivery, depending on the off-site location preference. 10. To assist on-site location electronically with faxing office notes and imaging to the patient’s care team and processing clinical inbox documents in EMR. 11. The Marketing Team can instruct to return on-site to assist with outstanding tasks or act as an intake coordinator. TYPE: Full Time EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED/Certified Medical Assistant HOURS: 8 hours, five days a week EXPERIENCE: Athena’s knowledge of 3+ months is preferred. CMA: Prior experience in a healthcare setting is helpful but optional. Prior ABI (Ankle Branchial Indexing) experience and certification are preferred but optional.
