Provides Excellent Customer Service. Performs administrative duties such as obtaining preauthorizations for procedures, answering incoming calls, contacting insurance companies, and working task lists. Prepares patient for exam by collecting medical history, vital signs and required clinical information when needed. Documents patient current medications and all allergies. Assist provider during testing, examinations and procedure when needed. Follows provider’s instructions to complete patient treatment. Provides and records all medications ordered by provider and given to the patient. Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following polices & procedures. Responsible for completion of assigned tasks plus providing updates on a daily basis . Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality. Medical Assistant certification from the Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants or comparable experience in lieu of it. Minimum one year experience in clinical office environment required. Must be proficient with MS Office software including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to work quickly, multi-task and be able to meet deadlines. Must have organizational skills and a professional demeanor to work effectively with external and internal personnel. Proper oral and written communication and telephone etiquette are required. Must maintain strict confidentiality relating to patient matters.
