Position Highlights:Sign on bonus: Will receive a $1,000 bonus (grossed up). The first $500 will be paid at your 6 month mark of employment and the remaining $500 will be paid at the end of one year. This bonus does not apply to internal employees transferring within departments.Position: Medical Assistant – OB MidwifesLocation: Elmhurst, ILFull TimeHours: Office is open Monday-Thursday 8-7:30p, Friday 8-4:30 and 1/2 day Saturdays 8-1:30p, hours variable (days/evenings/weekend). Travel: North Elmhurst, Lombard, and Oak Park as needed.What you will need:High school diploma or GEDPreferred: Certified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA , RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience. Candidates who are not certified or registered should have at least one year of clinical experience.Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red CrossA valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, evening and Saturday rotationPrior work experience in a OB setting, highly preferredBilingual Spanish preferredGeneral Summary: The MEDICAL ASSISTANT will be responsible for rooming patients, entering information into the Electronic Medical Record, Point of Care testing such as urine pregnancy tests and urine dips, vital signs, giving injections, assisting with in office procedures, stocking, assisting with quality/process improvement initiatives and logs. Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace. This office supports 5 Certified Midwifes. The patient population is teens through older adults.
