Vesa Health & Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Asssistant (CMA) to provide care at the Coast Guard Medical Readiness Clinic in Honolulu, HI! The Medical Assistant shall possess and maintain: At least 1 year of medical assistant experience within the last 2 years Formal Medical Assistant training/certification is preferred Maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). Summary of Duties: A. Assess patients needs for care, plans for Medical interventions, assess the effectiveness of the interventions and alters the Medical plan and interventions appropriately; B. Administers oxygen, subcutaneous and intra-muscular medication; C. Prepares patients for surgical and or diagnostic procedures; D. Prepares, operates, and monitors specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, etc.; E. Inventory medicine and drug stocks to ensure adequate supplies and controls; F. Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur in addition to regular scheduled appointments; G. Greets and receives patients to the clinic and discreetly ascertains the nature of their illness or condition and direct them to appropriate care; H. Responds to request for routine non-medical information such as duty status; I. Receives and screen phone calls; J. Files and maintains Healthcare records; K.
