Medical Assistant – Dunkirk & Prince Frederick, MD Calvert Internal Medicine Group is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. General Summary of Daily Duties: Inspects exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition; maintains sample medication closet; stocks and maintains rooms and nursesxe2x80x99 stations with adequate supplies. Performs one or more of the following daily: Venipuncture; Vitals, PFT, EKG; PT/INR; Urine Dip; Rapid Strep; Visual Acuity; Injections; Glucose Finger Stick; Rapid Flu A/Bxe2x80x94point of Care testing. Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, height, and medication reconciliation. Record patientsxe2x80x99 medical history, vital signs, and information such as test results in the electronic medical records. Checks patientsxe2x80x99 medical records for protocols Prepares Intake for office appointments; requests previous records and information from appropriate sources; Schedules appointments and tests as directed by the provider; reviews all requisitions (labs and x-rays) for completeness. Assists providers in examining and treating patients, handing them instruments and materials for performing such tasks as giving injections. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physiciansxe2x80x99 instructions to patients. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: HS diploma/equivalent. CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, EMT-B, or EMT-1 certification is preferred. At least 1-year previous experience is required as a medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, or other clinical position in a hospital or doctor’s office in place of certification required.
