Date: December 29th, 2023 Job Title: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) Position: Full-Time Department: Nursing (400) Location: PACE of the Triad Requested Start Date: ASAP Salary Range: $10-$30/per hour Job Summary Has the responsibility to assist with the delivery of primary care in an ambulatory care setting. Performs assigned duties and completes the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for working independently and using discretion to complete responsibilities in a timely, confidential and appropriate manner. Responsibilities also include: promoting efficient clinic flow and performing tasks for participants. Specifications Education and Special Training: High school graduate or equivalent; Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; Successful completion of a nursexe2x80x99s aide and/or home health training course is preferred. Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant and a minimum of one year of related experience in caring for impaired adults. Registry or Certification Required: Graduation from an approved CMA training program. Valid NC driverxe2x80x99s license and vehicle. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Act only within the scope of his or her authority to practice. Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PACE of Guilford and Rockingham Counties and approved by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid before working independently. Excellent internal and external customer service skills. Computer skills (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Data entry). Standard office equipment operation. Establish priorities and handle workflow with frequent interruptions. Ability to work independently. Flexible and able to work well with others. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills for telephone and in person interaction. Ability to represent the organization professionally. With or without reasonable accommodations: able to read, write and speak English; ability to clearly see medical records and various documents; ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist movements; have independent mobility in order to bend and/or stoop frequently, climb stairs, and walk distances; transfer, lift and position participants and equipment of at least 50 pounds during the course of providing care, treatment and or services utilizing correct body mechanics; hear blood pressures and spoken communication. Key Responsibilities Works effectively in team setting. Communicates effectively with participants, families, staff, and other departments and agencies. Organizes, prioritizes and accomplishes tasks in an orderly fashion Facilitates achieving customer satisfaction and agency compliance by troubleshooting and helping to resolve concerns. Communicates any changes in participant condition to the RN/NP/MD Under the direct supervision, provides duties in the Clinic including, but not limited to: promoting efficient work flow in the Clinic; performing established skills and procedures as delegated; taking and documenting vital signs; providing personal care to participants as required; obtaining lab specimens; documenting observations, treatments, procedures, and participant activities appropriately; assisting in monitoring equipment. Self-limits practice to tasks in which training has been received and competency has been deemed. Works with other members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) on coordination of 24 hour care delivery. Maintains medical records according to policies and procedures. Abides by all established policies, rules and regulations. Attends staff meetings. Other duties as assigned. Environmental Factors Tasks with potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens include, but are not limited to the following: Assisting with mouth care Assisting with care of non-intact skin Assisting incontinent participants with personal care Administering an enema Assisting with procedures in the clinic
