Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Location: Washington, IA Summary: This position plays a vital role in supporting nursing staff and healthcare providers by assisting with day-to-day operations associated with the direct and indirect care of patients within the clinic. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) ensures the efficient flow of patient care while maintaining high standards of professionalism, communication, and quality. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Complete all necessary documentation in patients’ medical records following clinic charting policies. Maintain effective communication with patients, coworkers, and visitors. Participate actively in continuous quality improvements, staff meetings, and education programs. Assist providers with placing orders and conducting medical procedures. Administer medication, provide patient instructions, and perform basic lab procedures as directed. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors. Sterilize and store instruments in accordance with clinic policies. Restock and prepare medical suites for patient examinations. Reorder supplies as needed. Respond promptly to patient and family needs while upholding confidentiality standards. Complete required continuous training and education. Comply with personal protective equipment and bloodborne pathogens procedures. Screen telephone calls, take messages, and provide information about available services. Schedule and confirm appointments, as well as assist with appointment rescheduling. Organize office and lab areas. Demonstrate and promote company values. Ensure regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills. Strong time management abilities. Capability to work both independently and in a team environment. Organizational skills. Education and/or Experience: BLS certification or obtain upon hire. Preferred experience in a medical setting. Certified Medical Assistant Certification. High school diploma or GED preferred.
