Sleep Medicine clinic is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant for a part-time/on call position. Ideal Candidate must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment and communicate effectively. Must possess excellent attention to detail and be able to work effectively under minimal supervision. Requires a flexible schedule between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Able to travel to Kona for Coverage as needed. Works directly with our Board Certified Sleep Specialist, mid-level providers, and independently. Duties will include, but are not limited to: xc2xb7 Answer phone calls, type with accuracy and reasonable speed, fax and route mail. xc2xb7 Prepare paperwork/packet for clinic. xc2xb7 Greet, check-in, and check-out patients, collect co-payments. xc2xb7 Data entry using an EMR system: enter patient demographics, schedule patient appointments (ECW preferred) xc2xb7 Request/Review patient records xc2xb7 Process referrals and obtain insurance precertification and benefits verification xc2xb7 Preparation for doctor’s examination, record purpose of visit, current medications, blood pressure, height, weight, etc. xc2xb7 Refer patients for sleep studies and/or any test requested by the provider xc2xb7 Dispense durable medical equipment to treat sleep disorders xc2xb7 Dispense Home Sleep Testing equipment xc2xb7 Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor/physician. *Travel to Kona 2 days a week Skills & experience: xc2xb7 Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent education or experience a plus. xc2xb7 Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. xc2xb7 Detail-oriented, hardworking, motivated team player. xc2xb7 Self-starter / time management skills xc2xb7 Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) (eClinicalWorks preferred) Benefits for full-time employees: xc2xb7 PTO (Paid Time Off) xc2xb7 Paid sick leave xc2xb7 Paid holidays xc2xb7 Medical and dental insurance xc2xb7 Reply by email with a brief statement why you’d make a good addition to the team.
