Experienced Medical Assistant Floater (CMA / LPN) Part xe2x80x93 Time (2 Shifts Per Week) This CMA Floater position requires travel between two clinics, Fort Washington and Clinton, to support critical shifts. We have an opening for a Medical Assistant who provides assistance to medical providers in the examination and treatment of patients following established standards and practices.Employees in this role are the liaison between patients and medical providers. We are looking for someone who is caring, courteous and efficient. Individuals in this role need to be detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, perform basic medical procedures, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Primary Responsibilities:Greet patients and assure a smooth and efficient patient flowPerform clinical intake including but not limited to obtaining patientxe2x80x99s medical history, current medications & chief complaint; obtain vital signs and records information within the electronic medical recordExplain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room for examinationPosition instruments and equipment and hand to the provider as directedClean instruments and equipment after useAdminister medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any proceduresPerform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functionsPerform CLIA-waived lab tests, draw blood, and create label and process specimens for send-outPerform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory (After certification training)Perform dosage calculations for administering medicationsWhere applicable, perform basic x-rays or assist radiology technologists with x-ray set-upComplete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies usedPerform patient callbacks, arrange referrals and testing, and schedule follow-up appointmentsMonitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticalsPerform quality checks on medical equipmentAssist in onboarding and training of new staff members if requiredAssist front desk staff with patient registration and perform additional clerical duties when neededPerform additional duties as necessary. Qualifications and Experience:Completion of an accredited professional clinical program.Proof of current Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA); license required for LPN, EMT or RTAbility to work weekday and/or weekend shifts as neededAbility to work 12-hour shifts as determined by locationBasic computer skills and working knowledge of electronic medical recordsStrong customer service and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skillsTwo years of clinical experience requiredBLS/CPR certification requiredOccupational Health, X-Ray, and/or IV experience preferredAbility to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriateMust pass pre-employment test with an 70% CMA Floater positions require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts. Access to reliable transportation is required. Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region.
