Our busy medical/ surgical dermatology office is searching for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Derm Tech to join our busy team. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, compassionate, work independently, be a team player, patient focused, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities for Certified Medical Assistant/Certified Derm Tech: -Rooming patients using EMR, documents all vital information prior to the exam with the dermatologist/dermatology provider. -Scribing on an iPad -Assisting providers with general dermatology, surgery, plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures as needed. -Patient triage -Refills -Prior authorizations -Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and take directions well -Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well as a team. -Patient communication/documentation -Provide informed consent to patients prior to procedures and obtain photographs as instructed. -Under supervision, assist provider with procedures such as biopsies, ED&C, Mohs, and Excisions. -Works under supervision with provider to administer biologic injections/train patients on how to self-administer. -Continue to learn and be able to explain new and existing dermatological conditions. -Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. -Willingness to travel to other office locations when needed, locations Michigan City, Chesterton, Portage, Crown Point and Munster. -Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone and in person, in a busy office environment. -Ability to stock and clean exam rooms, operate office equipment efficiently. Requirements: -*_Candidate must be available to work Monday – Friday from 7:45am to 7pm and one Saturday per month. Hours may be extended based on the practice needs.*_ -Dermatology or Plastics experience preferred, but not required. – Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
