Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Location: Hartsville, TN Rate: $850 – $1000 Weekly Shift: 40hrs – 5x8hrs – Days 8 Week Contract Responsibilities: Greet patients warmly and assist them in completing necessary paperwork. Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for their medical procedures. Record patients’ medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures as needed. Provide patient education on medication, treatment plans, and self-care practices. Schedule patient appointments efficiently, considering provider availability and patient preferences. Manage electronic health records (EHR) system to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information. Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and requests from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Process patient billing and insurance claims, verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as needed to ensure adequate levels. Collect specimens from patients, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and storage. Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and glucose monitoring. Adhere to strict protocols for specimen handling, processing, and disposal in compliance with regulatory standards. Follow established protocols for infection control, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, equipment, and common areas to promote a safe and hygienic environment. Monitor and report any potential safety hazards or incidents to appropriate personnel. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care. Communicate important patient information, test results, and follow-up instructions to healthcare providers and patients. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency. Requirements: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program. Previous experience working in a medical office or clinical setting preferred. Proficiency in medical terminology, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing software. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in healthcare practice.
