Our Medical Assistants play a vital role in providing quality patient care, ensuring the smooth operation of the office, patient flow, and supporting healthcare providers in delivering effective treatments and services. Their work requires a combination of clinical skills, administrative abilities, and strong interpersonal communication. Certification as a medical assistant is required for this role.xc2xa0Benefits:xc2xa0401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceHRSA Loan Repayment/Tuition reimbursementVision insurancexc2xa0Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:xc2xa0Greet patients and make them feel comfortable.Measure and record patient vital signs.Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during examinations and minor surgical procedures.Perform basic clinical procedures such as wound care, dressing changes, and suture removal.Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.Conduct specimen collection and prepare them for laboratory testing. Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood drawing and specimen collection. Prepare and process lab specimens and ensure they are correctly labeled. Maintain, code, and file accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHR) and paper files. Schedule appointments and manage the patient appointment calendar. Answer phones, handle patient inquiries, and relay messages to healthcare providers. Assist with billing and insurance. Manage medical inventory and order supplies when necessary. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Obtain Prior authorizations when needed. Follow proper infection control procedures to maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment. Ensure all medical equipment is sterilized and maintained according to protocols. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and administrative staff. Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and addressing their concerns. Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care as directed by the healthcare provider. Provide information and resources to patients about their medical conditions and health maintenance. Stay updated on medical best practices and participate in continuing education to maintain certification. Adhere to all policies and procedures. Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families, and staff and adhere to healthcare laws, regulations, and ethical standards, such as HIPAA. Displays a positive and professional image and attitude in all relationships with staff, clients, families, peers, and in the community. Participates in committees and in the Quality Improvement Plan, Strategic Plan, etc. as requested. Participate in safety programs, etc. as requested. Encourage staff to make suggestions for improvement for all Agency operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.xc2xa0Position Requirements / Qualifications:xc2xa0 High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a Medical Assistant Certification Previous experience as a Medical Assistant required (4-5 years) Strong computer skills and proficiency with office software (e.g., electronic health records, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office). Medical software- Advanced MD (preferred). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience in Primary care (Preferred). Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Successfully pass a background check and drug screen.xc2xa0Additional Information: xc2xa0 Schedule: 8-hour shifts (Monday through Friday) 8:30AM – 4:30PM. Compensation: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour. Work Setting: Acute care, clinical, in-person, outpatient.
