The CMA ensures that patientsxe2x80x99 needs and visit expectations are met with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. General Job Summary: The CMA provides exceptional customer service and clinical support to patients and team members by providing assessments, clinical note compilation, procedure assistance, and administrative functions related to the clinical support position. This position requires an exceptional knowledge of physician clinic and surgical services and must be forward thinking, responsive, have a willingness to learn and show empathy with patients. The CMA must work well with team members and have willingness to share job responsibilities. Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant with minimum 5 years experience in private practice setting. Surgical practice experience and understanding of surgical terminology is needed. Demonstrate ability to efficiently coordinate busy surgical practice between patients and providers. Proven ability document patient visits and assist all clinicians with daily clinic routines. Ability to exercise sound judgement and follow up on patient related orders and test results. Ability to show discretion on sensitive and confidential matters. Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities: Work well with all team members to promote a positive work environment. Greet patients warmly and with excitement. Assist all providers in intake and assessment of patients. Document in EHR appropriate subjective, objective, assessment and plan for each individual patient visit and/or procedure. Obtaining consents for any surgical procedures. Assist all providers with surgical procedures. Set up and turn over of exam & procedure rooms. Scheduling of surgical procedures at other facilities. Follow up of any laboratory, radiology or other tests ordered. Properly care for and maintain equipment and instruments. Triage phone calls from patients with questions and/or concerns and direct in the appropriate manner. Assist with patient appointments as needed follow up, additional testing or referral to another physcian. Preparation and pro-active thinking of clinic schedule with other team members to create consistent and well coordinated daily flow. Assist with pre-authorization of insurance for any procedures or surgeries as needed. Be responsible for clinic inventory and ordering of supplies. Assist in all areas of the practice operation including incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments, meeting deadlines and providing feedback and follow up as required. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment. Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the practice. Follow practice policies and procedures daily.
