Job description Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Certified Medical Assistant – Full Time JOB SUMMARY Fast paced dermatology practice that is focused on providing high quality medical and surgical Dermatology services, seeks a highly trained, well organized Certified Medical Assistant, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and works well in a team orientated environment. The main purpose of the clinical medical assistant is to assist the providers with patient care including facilitating patient flow candidate is responsible, rooming patients, obtaining history and chief complaint, assisting with biopsies and select surgical procedures as well as talking to patients about biopsy results and maintaining pathology logs. Other responsibilities include patient education on treatment plans, chart appropriately, maintain records, keep clinical area well stocked with current supplies, perform various administrative tasks, perform telephone triage all while demonstrating teamwork, customer service, effective use of resources, and showing initiative. To be successful in this position, the medical assistant must be cheerful, friendly, polite, tactful, and professional in appearance and manner. He/she will be able to communicate with the provider and the patient while being mindful of patient confidentiality. He/she will be able to evaluate and respond to patient needs and relay provider instructions. The successful medical assistant will be a team player and respectful of their co-workers. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Required: High school diploma or equivalent, AAMA, CMA, NCCT NCMA, and/or AMT RMA certification and two years clinical experience in Medical Practice. Preferred: Clinical experience in Dermatology. Federal Exclusions List and Background Check will be performed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, manual dexterity to assist in surgery, reach with hands and arms, sit and stand for long periods of time, and able to talk, hear, see, stand, walk, bend, squat, and type. SKILLS/ABILITIES Must have proven oral and written communication skills; as well as excellent customer service skills, ability to effectively work as a team member, able to highly manage multiple tasks simultaneously, well organized and excellent attention to detail, quick on feet, calm under pressure, must have confidence and be eager to learn and help, highly flexible and able to take direction with minimal supervision, and ability to prioritize. Must be extremely flexible, good at actively listening, reliable, treat co-workers and patients with respect at all times.
