We are looking to hire a Certified Medical Assistant that is willing to travel between our Plano and Frisco locations. This is for a fast-paced Cardiology office. We are part of a large organization that leaves room for growth and great benefits once a permanent employee!Job DescriptionThe Medical Assistant provides support to the Physician and/or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a licensed health professional in the areas of patient care by performing a wide variety of clinical and administrative duties. The Medical Assistant prepares the patient for time spent with the physician by reviewing history, reconciling medications, and measuring vital signs. The Medical Assistant will also perform front desk duties to include check-in/check-out.Essential Skills and FunctionsPrepares patients for exam by taking vitals and updating health information within the EMRReviews medication history to include PMP reporting as appropriatePrepares exam room for procedures with appropriate equipment and suppliesAdheres to Universal Health Precautions.Assists physician and/or APP with exams, tests, and/or procedures as requiredAssist in answering phones and scheduling appointments.Manages physician-authorized medication refillsConduct insurance prior authorizations as needed and manage incoming referralsSchedules patient appointments and answers incoming phone callsCheck in patients to include updating and verifying insurance and demographic information in the EMRCheck out patients to include collecting co-pays or deductibles and reviewing billed chargesQualificationsCertified Medical AssistantExcellent customer service and communication skills.Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.Experience with basic desktop software and electronic medical record systemsxc2xa0Fluent in EnglishKnowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations.Years of ExperienceMinimum of 2 years MA experience in a medical office with front office duties included
