Working with an engaged team and recognition of positive efforts and exceptional work.5 vacancies are open for this position in the East region.Clinics within the West region that applicants will need to be comfortable commuting to and working at based on business needs:Riverview, Apollo Beach, Fish Hawk, Sun City Center, and BrandonThe position will remain open until all vacancies are successfully filled.What You’ll Do:Join our talented and compassionate team of Certified Medical Assistants who provide patient care under the direct supervision of our providers.Responsibilities:Performs medical assistant procedures assists the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients.Undertake front office and clerical duties such as assisting patients with paperwork, verifying patient demographics and insurance benefits, and performing billing and bookkeeping functions.Assists provider in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required.Outlines care instructions to patients as instructed by provider.Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by provider.Updates medical records in accordance with procedures and forms.Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant.Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required.Clean wounds, draws labs, electrocardiograms, and applies dressings and splints as directed by provider.Assists patients any time an urgent need is apparent or as directed by supervisory staff.Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of provider or which training has been given.Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysis.Responsible for proper handling and storage of all medications stored in the office.Performs other admin related duties as assigned.Complete required trainings as assigned by the organization.Demonstrates empathetic and superior communication skillsExhibits outstanding customer service and patient careCan effectively act as a liaison between patients and providersAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-taskFollows established office routines and policiesUnderstanding of ethics of confidentiality/HIPAADisplays a courteous and friendly attitude to patients and team membersCompletion of assigned trainings by the organizationCross train between front office and mid office responsibilities as needed to ensure a synced clinicEducation and Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentBLS certificationHold a current Certified Medical Assistant certificationExperience with EPIC strongly preferredWorking knowledge of medical terminologyWork Environment & Travel:This job operates in a professional medical environmentMay require traveling to clinic locations within or outside of preferred regionMay require traveling to clinic locations outside preferred region during trainingConsistent use of technology throughout shift to complete assigned work tasksFrequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasksWork Schedule:Work Schedule: Sunday – Saturday 7:45am-8pm, 40 hours a week, full timeAlternating weekendsMay require overtime depending upon patient volume and clinic needsMay require travel to another clinic within region or outside of region upon managements request/clinic needsThis position is for the person who:Thrives working in fast-paced, high growth environmentHave a passion for helping people and a servant’s heartEnjoys meaningful work that truly impacts the lives of others and the communityAgile with the ability to adapt in a sometimes everchanging environmentStrives to foster a positive environment for team members and patientsLooks to improve the working environment and processesTampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care have partnered together to create unique clinics for patients to receive compassionate and knowledgeable treatment.
