Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

We are a small, but busy medical practice looking for a full-time certified medical assistant. Our office situation is unique. This is not a “clinic,” but each provider is their own entity and share the office space and overhead costs. Our office currently consists of three infectious disease physicians and a physician’s assistant that split their day between clinic and making rounds at the inpatient facilities. Each physician has a set schedule, and they don’t often overlap. Our providers are NOT affiliated with any state or government facility. Applicant needs to be able to multitask with attention to detail and have excellent communication skills. CMA job duties include rooming patients and obtaining vitals (Temp, manual BP, RR, O2 Sat, weight, height (new patients and pediatric patients), providing immunizations/vaccinations per provider request, collecting specimens from patients, scheduling appointments with the providers and assisting patients with scheduling exam/procedures at other facilities, and faxing/scanning/copying medical records. Other duties would include assisting the front desk position with answering multiline phone system, greeting patients, assisting patients with necessary forms, copying ID and insurance cards, collecting copays and previous balance due, and communicate with the providers in a timely manner to provide the best patient care. We will provide training for our EHR and billing program, NextGen. Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 9 am to 12 noon, for a total of 35 hours per week. To be considered “full time” and be eligible for benefits after the probation period, employee must work 35 hours/week. Probation period is three-six months, depending on job performance. Salary is $21-25/hour DOE and will be revisited after the probationary period. Retirement 401K enrollment will become available after the 1st of the year. Medical insurance may be offered after three months of employment. Major holidays are paid time off. Combination vacation/sick leave will accrue after the probationary period, up to two weeks/year, as well.
