We welcome a certified medical assistant to be part of our organization who is passionate about healthcare and taking care of patients. You will be responsible for the entire patient journey during the patient’s entire visit. Including greeting patients, triage, scheduling follow-up appointments, and referrals, collecting test samples, and assisting with examinations. Apply today and provide preference for one of our seven (7) locations (Old Town, Crystal City, Pentagon City, Kingstowne, Falls Church, Hybla Valley, Woodbridge and Fredericksburg.Compensation:$19 – $22 hourlyResponsibilities:Say hello to patients when they come to the office, answer the phone, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries about prescription refills and treatment to ensure patients have a pleasant experience at our officeRecord patient vital signs including body temperature, respiration rate, blood pressure, and pulse and add the information to their chartAssist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as neededFill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient recordsTalk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staffLearn clinic computer hardware and software and use them according to company policiesComply with patient needs at all times and ensure all questions are answeredOrganize medical records, laboratory results, and progress notes to ensure that the healthcare provider has all of the available and necessary information during patient encountersAssist with the Front Desk as necessaryQualifications:High school diploma or GEDGreat communication and customer service skills Should have a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agencyOver 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare settingAbility use a computer to complete administrative tasks Previous experience in a medical or primary care group practice or similar situations is preferredCustomer service-oriented and passionate about helping patientsPossesses clinical skillsElectronic Medical Records and/or Electronic Health Records experience preferred (eClinical)Proficient in medical terminology preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsJob Type: Full-TimeSchedule: 8-Hour Per DayFive Days Per WeekIn-PersonAbout CompanyNOVA Patient Care is one of the largest outpatient primary care organizations.
