Medical Assistant Job Description Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Certified Medical Assistant (preferred) Registered Medical Assistant (alternative) Job Summary: Office hours Mon-Thur. Enjoy a 3 day weekend every week! Provides clinical support to health care professionals to ensure the delivery of quality health care services in a Primary Care setting. The CMA team works with a Medical Doctor and a Nurse Practitioner. The CMA team collaborates with effective communication and coordinated shared duties as directed by the Providers. Please note that health insurance is not provided. Laboratory: Proficient in Phlebotomy, Blood Pressure, lab draws and specimen collection (to include assisting with pap smear, strep testing, pregnancy testing, and preparing urinalysis). Rooming Responsibilities: Responsibilities before provider sees patient includes the following: Chart prep Lab orders Refill medications as requested Greets and communicates with patients in a caring respectful manner Ensures workflow is efficient so that the providers can see patients with accurately updated information at a steady pace. Performs administrative duties such as creating thorough electronic health record documentation notes and accurately entering ICD-10 codes for all services Other duties: Ordering supplies as needed making sure rooms are stocked and ready Preps and assists with surgical procedures MCIR Temperature log documentation Sterilization of tools Phone triage Administers vaccines and allergy shots Attends meetings for vaccine updates/MCIR Attends monthly staff lunch meetings Adheres to and actively supports office medical policies, procedures and philosophies in accordance with standard best medical practices.
