The CMA will perform multiple duties, including but not limited to working up patients by obtaining histories, vital signs, medication changes; returning calls to patients; administering ordered vaccines and therapeutic injections. The right candidate will be willing to learn and work as a valuable part of the team to meet patients’ needs. The candidate will be capable of maintaining an open line of communication with other team members and medical professionals within the practice.Responsibilities:Greet patients and obtain key information regarding patient concerns at each visit.Obtain vital signs and enter them into the electronic medical record.Update histories and medications in the electronic medical record.Administer injections and breathing treatments ordered by providers.Obtain EKGs as ordered by providers.Identify urgent issues and escalate to providers as appropriate.Assist with in office procedures.Return calls to patients regarding results and relaying provider responses to questions.Complete patient outreach tasks following hospital admissions and emergency room visits.Be knowledgeable about the medical industry and medical terminology.Be well-spoken and able to explain easy medical terms to patients.Consult with senior medical professionals.
