3/31/2023 Bilingual Medical Assistant (Cypress/Katy/Kingwood) – The candidate must be able to travel to our Cypress, Katy, and Kingwood locations. JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Medical Assistant Supervised By: Practice Administrator Job Summary: Responsible for the medical care of the facilities patients Job Class: Non Exempt Hourly Employee Certified Medical Assistant Summary Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, running lab specimens, performing breath tests, and administering medications as directed by physician. Clinical Duties All tasks listed below must be done under the supervision of a physician: Assist the physician in examine rooms Recording the vital signs of a patient Creating the patient medical record Running specimens in our in house lab (training will be provided). Instructing patients about medication and special diets Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician Clerical Duties The primary clerical and administrative duties include: Greeting patients Assisting patients with completing required practice insurance forms Answering phones calls Updating medical records Patient Referrals Arranging for required clinical laboratory services Possess excellent communication abilities in both oral and written skills Possess strong organizational skills Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Able to follow directions well Assisting patients with scheduling needs Traveling with physician to different facilities (when instructed) Qualifications High School diploma, required Medical Assistant Certification (2 years) (Preferred) 2 or more years of experience in a clinical practice setting Knowledge of Medical Terminology Two yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the Gastroenterology Field Fulfill other duties as assigned Required education: High school or equivalent Certification/experience: Medical Assistant: 2 years Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Work setting: Clinic Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Gastroenterology: 2 years (Preferred) Medical scheduling: 2 years (Required) Language: Spanish (Required) License/Certification: BLS Certification (Required) Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Willingness to travel: 100% (Required) Work Location: On the road
