Medical Assistant xe2x80x93 Dermatology Associates of Uptown (DAU) Platinum Dermatology Partners xe2x80x93 Cedar Hill, TX and Las Colinas, TX This role will require you to work at the Cedar Hill location 3 days a week and Las Colinas location 2 days per week. This position requires working at 2 locations. The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination. Enter complete medical histories along with patientsxe2x80x99 current medications into the chart. Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patientxe2x80x99s medical record. Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures. Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments. Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms. Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments. Other duties as assigned to the back office. Education: High School Diploma required. Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required. Qualifications: Must have 2 years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant. Prior Dermatology experience is required.] Surgical experience is a plus. Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Strong phone etiquette. Teamwork. Professional in appearance and mannerisms. Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers. Able to prioritize tasks, understand the providerxe2x80x99s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice. Strong organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on electronic medical records. Must have a valid driver’s license. Mileage reimbursement. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Multiple staff demands and deadlines can trigger stress.
