Come join our growing team!xc2xa0SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Director of Property Accounting, the Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions required to produce monthly GAAP financial statements for properties owned by our partners, 29th Street Capital Management.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Record monthly adjusting and accrual entries Reconcile Asset, Liability and Equity accounts on a monthly basis. Monitors cash balances and recommend capital calls and distributions Prepare monthly financial statement analysis according to GAAP with variance reporting Compile monthly financial statement package with required supporting documentation Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Distribute financials to lenders/owners Assist in the annual audit and tax return preparation Assist in annual budget preparation Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements. Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they are able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of general financial accounting Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software. (Entrata preferred or similar real estate GL Software) Deadline oriented. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. Three years of accounting experience required. Experience in Real Estate field is preferred LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred but not required. #HRA
