Ideal Medical Assistant Float will have a variety of specialty experiences; multi-surgical specialties, Pre-operative Medicine; GI; Endocrinology; Wound Care; Sleep and more. Hours of the position may vary based on the needs of the clinic. Position is regular work days and no weekend. EDUCATION | TRAINING | EXPERIENCE | CERTIFICATIONSMust be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program – REQUIREDAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), American Medical Technologist (RMA), California Certifying Board of Medical Assistant (CCMA), Multiskilled Medical Certification Institute (National Certifying Board of Medical Assistants or NCMA) partnered with Nation center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: – REQUIREDBasic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: REQUIREDSuccessful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: PREFERREDPhlebotomy certificate: PREFERREDHigh school diploma or GED equivalent – PREFERREDExcellent communication skills and detailed understanding of patient carePrior EMR experience required (EPIC experience ideal)Ability to work independently or in a team settingStrong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines JOB SUMMARY:Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.Performs audiometry and vision testing.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
