Job Title: Medical AssistantLocation: Kennett Square, PA Reports to: Nurse Clinical Coordinator Job Summary: We seek a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to join our medical weight loss clinic. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our patients’ weight loss journey by assisting our physicians and nurses, providing excellent patient care, and maintaining an efficient clinical environment. This position involves clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations while providing high-quality healthcare services to patients. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Support: Assist with patient assessments, including taking vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and body measurements). Prepare patients for medical consultations and assist during consultations or treatments. Administer injections, draw blood, and handle other basic medical procedures under supervision. Prepare and maintain consultation rooms, ensuring equipment is clean,and properly stocked. Assist the team in providing education on weight loss programs, medications, and lifestyle recommendations. Patient Care: Greet and check-in patients, collecting their medical history and relevant health information. Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, appointments, and follow-up care. Answer patient inquiries both in person and over the phone in a professional and empathetic manner. Assist with monitoring patient progress and updating records regularly. Administrative Duties: Schedule and confirm patient appointments using the clinicxe2x80x99s EMR system. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing patient communications. Assist with inventory management for clinical supplies and ensure timely ordering of materials. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide a patient-centered experience. Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care, clinic operations, and any areas for improvement. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Experience: Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a weight loss clinic or similar healthcare environment. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred. Certifications: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced clinical environment. Empathy and patience in dealing with patients on their weight loss journey. Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems. Working Conditions: Full-time position with a standard workweek (Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend shifts).
