We are searching for an upbeat, energetic, and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our busy Nephrology office in Warrenton. The successful candidate must love to work and care for patients, have a positive attitude, be pleasant in all patient, physician and peer interaction, and be willing to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our practice running efficiently. The selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines, be detail oriented, well organized, and be flexible with the ability to respond quickly to shifting demands. Responsibilities include: Follow established protocols directed by the physician, to report and document diagnostic tests and/or patient complaints, especially those that are life-threatening or have abnormal vital signs. Generate and provide patient with physician-directed, follow-up orders for diagnostic tests and/or education regarding treatment, special diets, medication, and healthy lifestyle information. Receive, return, and document patient calls, correspondence and encounters within established guidelines and protocols directed by the physician. Phone in pharmacy refills and oversee prior authorizations, as directed by the physician. Review charts prior to patients’ scheduled appointment to assure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed and that reports have been returned and are accessible to the provider. At patient appointment, escort patients to examination rooms, obtain and record patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, manual blood pressure, and reason for visit with other background information; assist patient to complete unfinished paperwork. Record medical history, treatments, and problem lists accurately. Assist with medication reconciliation process, review and accurately document patient medications. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned after each patient and appropriately stocked with necessary supplies, equipment and forms. Practice proper infection control techniques. Cross-train to perform basic Patient Front Reception job duties as needed, including but not limited to patient registration and answering phones.
