Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p Location: Will travel 30-40 miles radius of UAB Under the Director of Ambulatory Services supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care for House Calls patients and driving providers to and from House Call visits to maximize visit efficiency. Helps assist physicians with patient care procedures. Works to provide direct and indirect patient care often in the patientsxe2x80x99 place of residence for a variety of patient ages and patient populations. May do venipuncture, take vital signs, review medications, and administer vaccinations. May help organize and maintain electronic medical record while also ordering Durable Medical Equipment, assist with consent form preparation and signing, Primary Care Provider change forms, and answering the House Calls phone line. ***Local travel to patientsxe2x80x99 homes within a 30 to 40 mile radius. Use of personal vehicle required.*** Position Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performing simple medical and laboratory procedures and EKGs.
