Liberty Doctors is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to work full time in a Family Medicine Practice in the West Ashley area of Charleston, SC. Must have 2 years of experience being a CMA and drawing blood working in a physicianxe2x80x99s office. The office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Mon. through Fri. Reports to: Physician and Practice Manager Job Summary: Under the guidance of a physician or mid-level provider, a CMA will provide nursing services and other appropriate forms of medical care to patients in an outpatient setting. As part of the medical team, the CMA will serve in a supportive role to the primary care provider carrying out the duties necessary to provide optimal patient care. This can include communicating directly with patients and their families both face to face and via phone and communicating with other members of the medical team to appropriately coordinate care. CMA is responsible for obtaining patientxe2x80x99s medical history, conducting patient education, assisting with lab tests and other duties related to patient care. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, blood draws, and document all information in patientxe2x80x99s chart Administer injections to patients as requested by Physician. Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patientsxe2x80x99 medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) All other duties as assigned by Office Manager Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Healthcare field and medical specialty Medical terminology Phlebotomy Grammar, spelling, and punctuation Knowledge of EHRs (if applicable) Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow Education and Experience: High school diploma; some college preferred CMA certification required 3 to 5 years of experience in medical office required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Medical specialties: Internal Medicine Pediatrics Schedule: Monday to Friday Work setting: Clinic In-person Experience: EMR systems: 2 years (Required) Vital signs: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (Required) Work Location: In person
