Certified Medical Assistant/CMA xe2x80x93 Family Care Clinic xe2x80x93 Full-Time, Days Fast-paced, high-volume clinic looking for a top skilled CMA **Sign-On for Eligible New Hires** Work location: 3142 Horizon Road, Suite 209, Rockwall, TX 75032 Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday xe2x80x93 Thursday, 7:30am xe2x80x93 4:30pm, & Friday, 8:00am xe2x80x935:00pm Travel: 75% to surrounding clinics as needed to the following: 490 US Highway 80, Ste. 200, Sunnyvale, TX 75182 757 E US Highway 80, Ste. 180, Forney, TX 75126 Family Care Clinic Highlights: Fast paced environment with a goal towards excellent patient care Compassionate team environment that promotes growth Promotes team collaboration and communication Herexe2x80x99s What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent (required) CMA – Current Medical Assistant Certification Upon Hire (required) Medical Assistant experience (strongly preferred) ACLS or BCLS (preferred) NCT – Non-Certified Radiologic Technician training may be required upon hire (preferred) Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injections Basic computer skills using medical management application systems Effectively communicate with staff and patients Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations Demonstrate sound judgement in emergency situations Take appropriate action in urgent circumstances Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patients Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures. Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider. Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem. Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG. Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing. Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician. Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s). Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
