IHC in Marion, Indiana is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and is looking for a rewarding opportunity! As a CMA, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, contributing to clinical and administrative tasks. Overview: Functions as a support person for the patient; assists the patient to the examination room, gives information to the patient, and collects information for the provider Obtains vital signs and other pertinent physical data Completes and updates the medical history of the patient Check the health care plan appropriate for the patientxe2x80x99s age Assists the doctor with examinations and minor surgeries, performs EKGs, hearing and vision testing, and nebulizer treatments Performs venipunctures and gives immunizations Performs Hct/Hgbxe2x80x99s, hematocrit, blood sugars, urine dipsticks, pregnancy tests, lead screens, strep tests, etc Prepares and sends out laboratory, pap, lead screens, and STD for testing Keeps logs and paperwork associated with the above tests and procedures current Records laboratory tests and processes laboratory test results Follows up on TB and Immunizations Updates EMR with test results and checks results against the lab test log. Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required: Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program (MA) Required: Certified Medical Assistant: Passed the CMA, RMA, or CCMA exam Required: Updated resume including education, dates & certificates at the time of application (Diploma, Degree, or Certificate) Bilingual: Preferred but not required for this position Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AED included) Experience with electronic health records is preferred (eCW is a plus) Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Interacts with colleagues and patients in a professional manner Possess excellent communication skills
