Certified Medical Assistant We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our Omaha clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting providers with various medical procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will also include performing administrative tasks, conducting patient assessments, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of phlebotomy, be confident with injections, possess excellent communication skills, able to handle copays and other payments, as well as exhibit a compassionate and professional demeanor. Responsibilities: Clinic Operations: Schedule patient appointments, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and manage the clinic’s appointment calendar effectively. Maintain and organize patient medical records, ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures, treatments, and medications. Assist in managing and ordering medical supplies, ensuring availability and maintaining appropriate stock levels. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and organized clinic environment. Collaborate with other clinic staff members to ensure efficient and effective workflow. Administrative Support: Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families. Handle patient registration, insurance verification, and assist with billing and coding procedures. Be comfortable with talking about money and taking copays / payments Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure timely communication with patients and external healthcare providers. Perform general administrative tasks, including maintaining patient confidentiality, managing electronic health records (EHR), and completing necessary paperwork. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant program. Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably with a solid foundation of medical terminology, procedures, and medications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and effectively communicate with patients. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Reliable and shows up on time. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to a dynamic clinic environment. Demonstrated commitment to patient care, privacy, and confidentiality. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software. Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for consultations, procedures, or treatments. Assist our nurse practitioner and chiropractor during patient examinations, providing support and maintaining patient comfort. Perform basic medical procedures such as collecting vital signs, conducting physical assessments, and obtaining patient medical histories. Educate patients on hormone-related conditions, treatments, and medication administration as directed by the nurse practitioner. Administer prescribed medications, injections, or treatments under the supervision of a nurse practitioner.
