Performs other related duties as assigned.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: xe2x80xa2 Carries out policies and procedures developed to maintain infection control and safety.xe2x80xa2 Performs duties according to approved policies and procedures relating to OSHA and Standard Precautions.xe2x80xa2 Performs routine clinical functions to include but not be limited to: vital signs, weight, blood pressure, urine sugar/protein dips, and hematest.xe2x80xa2 Multiple site assignments as needed.xe2x80xa2 Will follow role assignments that are in alignment with the Patient Centered Medical Home Standards, and participate in all Patient Centered Medical Home efforts.xe2x80xa2 Records data collected in appropriate EMR system.xe2x80xa2 Reports patient observations to the responsible provider or staff nurse.xe2x80xa2 Performs lab procedures as assigned, collects, labels, and processes all specimens including urine, stool, sputum, and blood as required.xe2x80xa2 Provides patient with appropriate requisition, information and instruction for ancillary tests and procedures ordered by physicians.xe2x80xa2 Stocks inventory and ensure cleanliness of examination rooms, equipment, and work area.xe2x80xa2 Reports medical and office supply inventory needs to supervisor.xe2x80xa2 Prepares specimens for shipment to external lab ensuring that specimens are ready and picked up by courier in accordance with designated courier schedule.xe2x80xa2 Checks spiceworks voicemail and route phone messages to providers or nurses.xe2x80xa2 Ensures that specimens are processed in accordance with established Howard Brown research protocol.xe2x80xa2 Maintains patient flow.xe2x80xa2 Participates in quality assurance process via data collection, evaluation of results, and implementation of recommendations.xe2x80xa2 Participates in research project participant recruitment as directed.xe2x80xa2 Performs data entry into Centricity as needed (i.e. referrals, depression collaborative)xe2x80xa2 Demonstrates commitment to Howard Brown core values, mission, and vision.xe2x80xa2 Participates in huddles.xe2x80xa2 Performs medical reception functions.xe2x80xa2 Mandatory attendance of department meetings.xe2x80xa2 Performs other duties as directed.xe2x80xa2 Process purchase orders and obtaining appropriate signatures for approval for clinic when manager is out of office.xe2x80xa2 Oversee clinic tracking logs of refrigerator and sharp containers on a day basis.xe2x80xa2 Train Medical Assistants Externs students and evaluate their performance.xe2x80xa2 Complete Students evaluation forms and gives to manager for approval.xe2x80xa2 Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIRED: Required:xe2x80xa2 Lead MA:xe2x80xa2 MA Certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) (must be current and active) xe2x80xa2 Phlebotomy Certified Technician (PCT) required or eligible to sit for PCT Exam in first 90 days of employmentxe2x80xa2 Echocardiogram Certified Technician (ECT) preferred; must receive in first 180 days of employmentxe2x80xa2 Completion of PersonABILITY, Team Based Care, and Principles of Health Coaching certificatesxe2x80xa2 Experience Required-three years of previous Certified Medical Assistant experience (either at HBH or externally)xe2x80xa2 Preferred – any type of demonstrated leadership experienceWORKING CONDITIONS:Generally pleasant environment. Will need to work some evenings or weekend as required. Space is limited and must be shared for optimal usage.
