Growing together.xc2xa0As a Healthcare Representative, you will interview and advocate for patients and their families to obtain maximum benefit coverage in a hospital or healthcare setting.This position is full-time position, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am xe2x80x93 4:30pm CST. Our office is located at Rush University Medical Center, 1620 W Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60612.We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.xc2xa0xc2xa0Primary Responsibilities:Interview patients in a hospital setting and work effectively with hospital personnel to assist patients with obtaining maximum benefit coverageComplete applications for state and federal programsReview medical records and take all necessary actions to expedite benefit approvalAdhere to company and legal standards regarding Protected Health Information (PHI), Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Personnel Transaction Identifier (PTI)Maintain ongoing communication with government agencies regarding the status of claimsProvide updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other Optum staff as neededMaintain documentation of status of claims and client contract on Optum and/or hospital computer systemsDetermine when to use a Federal, State or Local program application based upon medical definition of disability as it relates to body systems and to functions of daily living, and information contained in medical records.Willing to work in a fast-paced hospital or healthcare environmentxc2xa0xc2xa0Youxe2x80x99ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experienceMust be 18 years of age OR older1+ years of customer service experience Bilingual fluency in English and SpanishExperience with Microsoft Office productsAbility to work onsite full time at Rush University Medical Center, 1620 W Harrison St Chicago, IL 60612 Ability to work Monday xe2x80x93 Friday, between the hours of 08:00am xe2x80x93 04:30pm CSTxc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0xc2xa0Preferred Qualifications:1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital or healthcare environmentKnowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clientsKnowledge of medical terminologyPrevious experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgroundsxc2xa0xc2xa0Soft Skills:Excellent organizational skillsStrong communication skillsxc2xa0 xc2xa0Physical and Work Environment:General office demandsProlonged periods of standing and walking in hospital facilitiesxc2xa0xc2xa0At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
