Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join a leading regional supplier of building materials located west of Chicago. This role is essential to maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting strategic decision-making as we continue to grow.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements and reports to senior management.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry trends.Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial standards, including coordination of audits and tax filings.Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.Cost Analysis: Monitor and evaluate costs related to operations, identifying areas for improvement and potential savings.System Optimization: Ensure financial systems are utilized effectively and aligned with organizational needs.QualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the building materials or related industry.
