Duties include assisting the provider and health care team in providing excellent customer service and quality patient care by performing a variety of clerical and patient-related tasksAssists in other sections of the department as needed.xc2xa0Position Reports To:xc2xa0Radiology Manager. Essential FunctionsCoordinates with referring providers within the Confluence Health system and outside Confluence Health to facilitate education, support, and appointments as needed in regards to breast imagingPossesses some knowledge of MQSA requirements and assists in record keeping in the EHR as requestedAssists with scheduling and performing breast procedures within Confluence Health.Reviews procedures as needed and follows up with patients and providers on necessary lab tests or preparations for all radiology examinations. This can include providing test results only as requested by the radiologist.Utilizes PACS, RIS, and EMR efficiently and completes required documentation for each encounter as needed. This includes pathology and follow up after procedures.Understands and follows all universal precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.Attend department meetings and participate in all annual required training and in-service training.If working less than 40 hours per week, may be required to work scheduled days off.Assist the BCCHP when needed for breast care related issues.Lifts and transfers patients as needed using safe ergonomic technique and utilizes the hydraulic lift or other safe patient handling devices and the patient’s family members or caregivers when necessary.Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired:High school graduate or GEDAccredited Medical Assisting program graduate, or enrolled in externship program.Active Medical Assistant Interim (IC) or Medical Assistant – Certified (CM) license through the Washington State Department of Health. Desired:Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.Basic computer skills.
